The Head of Products leads the Products team and is responsible for the successful operation and monetization of our games portfolio in Europe and North America. The focus of the role is on growth and stable operations of our games in our territories through product development and operational planning and execution. The role is based in the My.com office in Amsterdam, reports directly to the General Manager and coordinates with our Headquarter in Moscow and our internal and external service teams.

Goals:

  • Fulfill our games’ revenue and cost goals by planning and operating the roadmaps, live services and monetization of our games in accordance with the budget
  • Create and maintain a functional team of Producers and Game Operations Specialists by defining and implementing workflows, tools and processes
  • Define and support the pipeline of new games and game updates by cooperating closely with developers and our Business Development Unit

Responsibilities:

Planning and Strategy

  • Coordinate the monthly Operations Planning process (Setup, Review, Follow-up)
  • Work with the Producers to develop mid- and long-term strategies and tactical plans to ensure the game fulfills the budgeted goals
  • Coordinate special activity requests and cross-game projects and initiatives between Producers and Service Teams
  • Represent the “Products” Cornerstone in the Management Team and contribute to the strategic and tactical planning of the company

Profit and Loss

  • Create and submit the Monthly Revenue Forecasts together with the game producers
  • Review and monitor the daily revenue situation and initiate appropriate action to counteract any forecast deviation together
  • Maintain and Update the supporting Forecast Documents to ensure the Producers are optimally equipped to create accurate Forecasts
  • Plan and Review the Monthly Operations Costs through the internal Timeload tracking and in cooperation with the department Leads
  • Cooperate with the relevant departments to monitor and improve our Funnel Performance across the games’ lifetime

Team Management and Support

  • Oversee the day to day business of your team of Producers, Game Operations Specialists and Monetization Specialists
  • Maintain and manage your team’s development goals, grading, individual feedbacks, salary monitoring and negotiations as well as escalations and other HR matters
  • Support the members of your team with help and guidance on daily tasks

Processes and structures

  • Maintain, design, document, introduce and implement work processes to support the team in the day to day operations
  • Plan and support the integration of new games into our portfolio by developing and maintaining standard integration documents and processes
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with our colleagues in our Moscow office
  • Regularly meet and review operational questions and requests with the service teams
  • Monitor the operational stability of all related services and provide feedback to the Service Teams and your team

Reporting

  • Maintain the regular internal financial reporting of forecasts and actuals
  • Maintain and improve the weekly Operations reporting for each game
  • Create necessary or requested ad hoc reports on Finance, Product or Operations topics

What you need to bring…

  • 10+ years of experience working in Product Management online video games with a Free-to-Play model or similar experience, ideally in a management or coordination role
  • Experience in working with monetization and audience KPIs and creating action plans, forecasts and reports against these KPIs
  • Experience working with development teams in defining and implementing product roadmaps and rollout plans for online games
  • Experience working with Marketing in creating and supporting holistic Marketing Plans for game and update releases in the EU and NA markets
  • Experience in Project Management working with different methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
  • Interest in and understanding of Free-To-Play MMORPGs and the business model
  • Proficiency with standard office tools such as Word and Excel, Google Sheets and other online tools (Mind mapping, Project Management, Task Management, etc.)
  • Excellent People management and communication skills
  • Fluency in English

It would also be great if you had…

  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence for task and information management
  • Additional languages such as German, French, Chinese, Korean or Russian
